YEAR 2 - SECTION 1.2

Family Huddle: Go around and have each member share their answers to following questions: 

1. How did you feel loved this past week? 
2. How can we pray for/encourage you this coming week? 

Affirmation: Each student will stand and repeat the following: 

• I am loved and lovable. I am capable of doing hard things. 
• I will choose joy in good and bad times because no matter what, God is with me. 
•  I know in my heart that God loves me and He wants the very best for me, always! 

Prayer: Refer to the book Pg. 23 for opening prayer

Activity: Student, complete Walking with Jesus in the book Pg. 25

After watching the video, answer the Check Your Understanding questions in the book on page 37. 

Discussion Questions: 

1. In the Bible story The Road to Emmaus, who are the two disciples surprised to learn is walking with them?
2. Who did Jesus call to be the “Rock”, the leader of the Church?
3. There are 7 Sacraments, what are the first 3 Sacraments which are considered to be the Sacraments of Initiation?
4. At Mass we are fed through the Word of God and through receiving Holy Communion so that we can go out into the world to do what?

Read the Family Time section on page 38 and follow the directions. 

Closing Prayer - Close in prayer by having everyone read together on page 39.  (Remember to do the Sign of the Cross before saying 3 Hail Mary’s and then again at the end). 

End the gathering by offering a sign of peace (and a hug) to one another.
